Abstract

REGUERO MUNOZ, José Luis et al. Conversions in laparoscopic cholecystectomy. AMC [online]. 2003, vol.7, n.3, pp. 296-304. ISSN 1025-0255.

Resuts of conversions to open surgery in 4 000 patients operated through laparoscopic cholecystectomy in a period of five years at " Manuel Ascunce Domenech" Provincial Hopsital in Camagüey were presented . In our series 18 patients were converted to open surgery for 0,004 %, figure lower the reported in literature. The 61,1 % of patients converted were femenine, and 41,4 % from 41 to 60 years old. The most frequent associated disease were cardiovascular. The main causes for conversion in our series were acute cholecystitis prevailing patients with 72 hours or morre of evolutio, and bilioenteric fistula. There was no mortality.
