Abstract

A descriptive study to 36 patients with lesions caused by steel arms in the upper limbs, admitted in the admitted in the Orthopedics and Traumatology services at Manuel Ascunce Domenech Provincial Hospital, from November, 2000 to Octuber, 2002, was carried out. In this work, variables such as: age, sex, the most frequent causes, anatomic localization, associated lesions, complications, sequelae and resulting discapacity were analyzed. The most affected ages were from 31 to 40 years, the sex that prevailed was masculine; the causes were disputes, the anatomic localization most affected was the fore-arm partial permanent discapacity was the most relevant, the same as functional sequelae.
