Abstract

As care of the mentally disable is growing in importance, an observational descriptive, causal study was conducted at two schools for the mentally disable of the Municipality of Camagüey from September 1999 to April 2001. The 87-shoolchild sample was subject to oral hygiene awareness diagnosing through affection giving techniques that fostered involvement. A descriptive statistical report (that sorted frequency rate figures by absolute quantity and percentages) was presented in conjunction with an inferential statistic report that included square chi contingency charts and ratio hypotheses. High prevalence of mount diseases was influenced by risk factors. So a large number of schoolchildren were classified as `seriously ill.
