Abstract

PEREZ ALVAREZ, Luis  and  BASTIAN MANSO, Luis. Infantile cerebral paralysis.: Mortality in youngers of 15 years in Camagüey province. AMC [online]. 2008, vol.12, n.4, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1025-0255.

Background: The cerebral paralysis potentially constitutes a limitation for life expectancy. Objective: To evaluate the mortality behavior and its causes in children affected by the infantile cerebral paralysis. Method: A retrospective, descriptive study was performed in patients carriers of this affection, the dead in ages under 15 years and the born in the period 1986-2005 in Camagüey province, 58 in total. Results: The greater number of death occurred in ages of one year or less, nine patients (15, 51%) and at the 13 years, seven (12, 06%). The respiratory sepsis the cause of death in the 100% of patients was reported. Conclusions: A post-mortem study to a low number of patients eight (13, 8%), which attracted the attention.
