Abstract

Preliminary study of an aqueous extract from Calendula officinalis Lin. is presented, observing presence of saponins, polysaccharides, flavonoids, tannins, and amino acids. Pharmacological study performed reports antimicotic properties and after a year of extract elaboration, physico-chemical characteristics not present significant changes. Results obtained using this extract suggest to deepen in physico-chemical and pharmacological study, to set quality limites and to be used as raw material in phytodrugs formulation.
