Abstract

Iatrogenesis is defined as the adverse effect on the health of patients caused by the medical institution as a result of omission or commission errors committed by heath professionals and as a consequence of actions taken for preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic ends, for which this article discusses about social impact of possible iatrogenic trends in a hospital through the use of diagnostic resources in the clinical laboratory.
