Abstract

A descriptive, longitudinal and prospective study of 130 severely ill patients, admitted in the Intensive Care Unit in "Dr. Juan Bruno Zayas Alfonso" Teaching General Hospital from Santiago de Cuba was carried out during the biennium 2011-2013, aimed at determining the impact of the hemotherapy on the health state of those affected, based on clinical and epidemiological aspects of interest. Patients older than 65 years, those with surgical diseases and neumopathies prevailed in the series. Among the most frequent causes and complications there were: the anemia as the first ones and the feverish non haemolytic reaction, as the second one. Late complications or mortality were not detected after the hemotherapy
