AZAHAREZ RODRIGUEZ, Maikel. Effectiveness of Therapeutic Ultrasound in The Spastic and Paretic Upper Limb Treatment. ccm [online]. 2017, vol.21, n.1, pp. 204-218. ISSN 1560-4381.

Therapeutic ultrasound is a physical agent used in the spasticity treatment secondary to pyramidal tract lesions by ischemia or haemorrhage. Its effectiveness has been documented in non numerous paretic inferior limb studies, and none one in the superior limbs. For that, a document search was done in databases like PubMed, SciELo, Ebsco, Medline, also using the powerful searcher ClinicalKey, and in others Cuban doctoral investigations and scientific national reviews. Finally, a coherent argument theory was obtained, bringing an important ultrasound treatment methodology for reduction spasticity in the paretic upper limb.

Keywords : therapeutical ultrasound; spasticity; hemiplegia; upper limb; cerebrovascular disease.
