Abstract

The term information literacy comes from the English Information Literacy expression adopted by the English speaking universities to group the set of procedures, concepts and values necessary for the search, selection, organization, analysis, communication and dissemination of information. The present work was aimed at presenting the Information Literacy program designed for residents of Vladimir Ilich Lenin Hospital. The program consisted of three modules developed in eight themes, with a total of 180 hours, and a duration of three months; it will be taught to residents of the first and second years to solve the problems detected in the diagnosis. The proposed course, in the program has a high practical component and meets the established parameters, as well as to find the difficulties, update knowledge. The course is a guide to motivate residents in the achievement of competencies for health information management.
