A study of occupational exposure to inorganic dust was performed in which 27 workers form "IV Congress" construction brigade, and from "Paco Cabrera", "3ra y 64", and "José Martí" cement factories were examined. It determinted the total amount of dust and the breathable dust fraction in the air by means of a partial-time continuos individual sampling technique. It was proved that granite production workers are particularly exposed to total dust concentrations in the air which exceed 5 times the allowable limit whereas the corresponding breathable fraction is within the allowable levels. Hygienic-sanitary recommendations are made for these dust-contaminated jobs.
