An observational descriptive study of 200 medical records of patients admitted to the Medicine Service of "10 de Octubre" Clinical and Surgical Hospital was made to assess possible drug interactions which, according to their phase of location, were classified into pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic and pharmaceutic. Forty possible pharmacological interactions (20 %) were stablished with pharmacodynamic ones predominating (70 %). Most of the interactions found were incorrect associations (55 %). There is a need to improve prescription practices to achieve a rational drug use.
