LUGONES BOTELL, Miguel; RAMIREZ BERMUDEZ, Marieta; PICHS GARCIA, Luis A. and MIYAR PIEIGA, Emilia. Historical notes on epidemiology, clinics and therapeutics of tuberculosis worldwide. Rev Cubana Hig Epidemiol [online]. 2007, vol.45, n.2, pp. 0-0. ISSN 1561-3003.
A literature review was made in the National Medical Library, Medline and Internet to find out historical, clinical, epidemiological and therapeutical aspects of tuberculosis as well as their origin and evolution in the course of time. Different landmarks of importance in knowing this disease were underlined whereas special emphasis was made on clinical and epidemiological aspects. It was concluded that this is a re-emerging disease and continues to be a severe health problem worldwide, much linked to the increase of morbidity and mortality and of HIV/AIDS.
