The Cuban National Health System has remained from its onset in a continuous process of reforms leading to changes in the gradual development of medical care. Also, approaches, methods and techniques to increase the quality have been applied and developed. One of the dimensions of the working life quality influencing in productivity and development of human talent of one entity is the organizational environment a perception or experience becoming work property of workers influencing powerfully in its behavior, motivation, performance and satisfaction. There are some forms to assess the organization environment of a unit, in the case of health there is a positive experience, the PAHO inventory of the organizational environment a methodology used successfully in Cuba. In present paper are exposed its conceptual basis, the exploration techniques through its 4 dimensions: lead, motivation, reciprocity and participation. Its significance for the good practice of managers and workers, as well as the need to apply this type of study in our health services. We must to take into account that the human factor is the main resource in a institution and that its influence is decisive in its development and success The man is and will be for ever the part more active of a organization.
