Euthanasia is not a new problem, but it has been approached in each moment depending on the circumstances, linked to political, cultural and religious differences. Nowadays it is one of the more updated ethical debates. Literature is plenty of considerations favoring or against around the ethical involving physician and society to relief suffering and pain, particularly in patients with a terminal illness when they take a conscious decision to put an end to life. The objective of present paper is to deepen on euthanasia and its present trends. A bibliographic review from the past five years using the descriptor in Health Sciences (DeCS), In Cuba, the practice of the euthanasia is penalized and it is considered a murder. In the professional culture of Cuban physician is not planned to help or to allow to dye to persons; however, the fact is that the problem exists.
