The universe was comprised of 882 children and the sample 207, both sexes. To the statistical analysis of the qualitative data; percentage, rate hypothesis testing, and chi-square test when necessary were used, considering a significance level of 0,05. The most affected ages were 7 to 8 ages and female sex prevailed. After the application of the educative strategy, the majority of children showed a favorable recovery and parents expressed a satisfactory acquisition of knowledge about the topic.
