This work was done in PRODAL food industry, located in Regla, Havana, in order to characterize was the water production process that takes place there. Polluted effluents from the production plants are discharged into the Bay of Havana without treatment, causing an environment deteriorated in the Havana Bay. Due to the increasing pollution of the bay and the requirements regulated by Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment, which is responsible for protecting the health of different aquatic ecosystems, among others, there were presented the essential characterization parameters that will support the proposal and acquisition of sewage treatment plant for the industry, with the aims to decrease contaminants tenors to permissible values presented in Cuban standard NC-TS 360:2004.
