Abstract

YULI-POSADAS, Ricardo Ángel et al. Determination of flood scenarios in the cunas river sub-basin, Junín, Peru. Ing. hidrául. ambient. [online]. 2023, vol.44, n.1, pp. 73-82.  Epub Mar 03, 2023. ISSN 2788-6050.

A methodology based on the processing of the digital terrain model in saga-gis is presented to determine flood scenarios in case of intense or prolonged rains in the cunas river sub-basin, junín, peru. The variables calculated from the alos palsar dtm were: closed depressions (cd), vertical distance to the drainage network (vd), modified catchment area (mca), surface runoff - land runoff flow d8, and the topographic humidity index (tw1). Flood susceptibility is obtained as cd + mca + d8 + tw1-vd. The resulting map validated in the field shows different degrees of susceptibility to flooding, highlighting three sectors where a significant group of population centers are exposed to potential medium to high grade flooding.
