Abstract

HIDALGO MAYO, Axel  and  MITRANI ARENAL, Ida. Variability and trends of coastal flooding in Cuba (1901-2020). Ing. hidrául. ambient. [online]. 2023, vol.44, n.2, pp. 2-10.  Epub Mar 03, 2023. ISSN 2788-6050.

Variability and trend of coastal flooding in the Cuban archipelago during 1901-2020 is analyzed. Chronology and classification of these extreme events by provinces were used, as well as the hypothesis test of the proportion to compare two sample of same population. The results confirm an increase, statistically significates for the 5% significance level, of coastal flooding frequency on all Cuban coasts since 1981; while the most intense events have occurred during XXI Century, due to of the affectation a Cuba of eleven major hurricanes.
