Abstract

ALVAREZ ESCOBAR, María del Carmen et al. Dengue, chikungunya, Zika virus. Social determinants. Rev.Med.Electrón. [online]. 2018, vol.40, n.1, pp. 120-128. ISSN 1684-1824.

ABSTRACT Dengue, chikungunya and zika are diseases belonging to the arbovirus group, transmitted by Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes. These diseases have increased both their incidence and geographical distribution, in a very complex epidemiologic situation, owing to the variability of the environmental conditions and demographical and socioeconomic aspects favoring their presence. Due to all before said it is crucial to improve the differentiated diagnosis of those diseases; designing new inter-program strategies and inter-sector actions like education, working in dwellings, water treatment, basic sanitary work, environmental actions, developing agriculture and cattle raising are all necessary to modify environmental and social determinant of these diseases.

Keywords : zika; dengue; chikungunya; Aedes aegypty; health status; social determinants of health.
