Abstract

ESPINDOLA ARTOLA, Arnaldo  and  MACHADO RAMIREZ, Evelio F. Theoretical basis of medical professionals' skill to evaluate statistical information. Rev Hum Med [online]. 2016, vol.16, n.3, pp. 489-503. ISSN 1727-8120.

Various investigations confirm that the evaluation of statistical information constitutes a limitation for health professionals. There are potentially inappropriate ethical and bioethical positions garnered from data with limited evaluation that can generate problems for the medical science fields and potentially, for society as a whole. For that reason, the objective of this article was to theoretically support the health professional's skill to evaluate statistical information. The results obtained suggest the need to develop a competency process for health professionals in the evaluation of statistical information.

Keywords : competency; evaluation of the statistical information; health professional.
