LEON PEREZ, Tailyn et al. Educational work with Medical Sciences students in active research during the COVID-19 pandemic. Rev Hum Med [online]. 2022, vol.22, n.3, pp. 636-649.  Epub Nov 02, 2022. ISSN 1727-8120.

Introduction:

Active research in the community was one of the challenges of educational work during the 2019 coronavirus pandemic in Cuba. The objective was to characterize the educational work with medical sciences students in active research during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Material and Methods:

it is a descriptive study carried out from January to December 2021 that uses the qualitative approach, and uses scientific observation and an interview applied to 25 teachers that included questions referring to educational work in its curricular, sociopolitical and extension dimensions.

Results:

The research was carried out house by house, with advice from the teachers. The students acquired knowledge about the doctor-patient-family-community relationship. In the educational scenarios, morning sessions were held, they maintained adequate national and international information on the current situation and hygienic-sanitary measures. They carried a chlorinated solution for frequent hand disinfection, they wore a mask permanently, but they did not always comply with social distancing. Responsibility and industriousness were values that characterized them. Most maintained an appropriate appearance and bearing with proper use of the uniform, correct discipline. Discussion: Students demonstrated the communicative ability to establish relationships based on mutual respect and understanding.
