Early stimulation refers to the care of infants who need additional resources for their development. In popular councils of Santiago de Cuba, a work was carried out for the early stimulation of children with risk factors for mental retardation. Theoretical research methods and a pedagogical pre-experiment were used to develop and evaluate an early stimulation program and strategy that provide resources to stimulate and evaluate child development. This contributed to early detection of deficiencies or delays in the development of the children studied.
