The training of professionals prepared in the prevention of occupational risks, accidents and occupational diseases is part of the country's economic and social development project. In this sense, the authors carried out a study, with the use of theoretical and empirical methods, which showed the weaknesses that persist in the mining students regarding this issue. Therefore, a didactic strategy is proposed. It highlights as a result the need to improve the teaching-learning process of Safety and Health at Work, according to the needs that students deal with during their career and professional performance.
