The manual arts activity (Vinueza, 2020), aims to provide children with different possibilities so that they can express themselves freely and develop their creative capacity, promoting artistic interest and encouraging their imagination.

We work with different materials, fabrics and new techniques, carrying out all kinds of manual activities and constructions (toys, musical instruments, animals, models...): a workshop full of shapes, textures and colors that invites children, adolescents and young people to continue discovering and experimenting a different plastic language.

Crafts help them to express themselves, to communicate their feelings, to develop their imagination and creativity, crafts stimulate learning skills in children, so it is essential to include them both in school and in everyday life, through the manipulation of different materials and techniques, children get to transform and materialize their ideas.

The activity aims to encourage and guide students in the creative aspect and manual dexterity so important for the integral development of the personality, from the work with the manual arts in the presence of schoolchildren with special educational needs serving them of vital importance for their motor skills and their consequent job training.

The book consists of 2 pages summarized from the magazine Para el Aula - IDEA - Edition Nº 34 with an extension of 9 pages, it is expressed in a language, clear and very accepted images for children that motivates them to the development of creative initiative with high humanistic power, of solidarity, promotion and collective education affectionate works with the hands, making use or not of tools.

The reviewed work is current and pertinent. It has originality and a praiseworthy effort was made to promote new studies on this little-studied subject of forest fires in the province of Guantánamo. It responds to the Guidelines of the Economic and Social Policy of the Party and the Revolution for the period 2016-2021, guidelines 99, 101, 104, and 108, of the Science, Technology and Environment Policy.

This work determines the importance of manual work for children in quarantine period that deals with activities or trades that are related to work with waste material and that do not have any danger to the lives of these children or the performance of a craft trade in the field of manual trimming and strengthening of the Craft campaign in Guantanamo province.

As a basis for its development, an evaluation was made of the behavior of handicrafts in the last 10 years in this province regarding the traditional uses of this activity, which has been somewhat neglected and has been playing down the importance of occupying children's free time. The political, legal and institutional framework was analyzed in relation to the problem of the use of handicrafts and the rates of occupation of time in children's hospital wards.

Eighteen children and an equal number of parents admitted to the Pedro Agustín Pérez Provincial Hospital in Guantánamo were surveyed. The sample was taken using random probability sampling to carry out a study on the traditional uses and occupation of children's useful time during the most critical stage of the pandemic.
