Abstract

Frequency response analysis as a tool to evaluate the results of the test of impulse to transformers. Energética [online]. 2016, vol.37, n.2, pp. 94-104. ISSN 1815-5901.

In this work a group of results are shown in regard of a diagnosis procedure performed on a group of transformers using the frequency response method in impulse testing. In most specialized laboratories, the recording of test waves obtained from impulse testing it’s done in time domain to later on analyze the results by means of comparing tension and current oscillograms. This procedure has two weaknesses: little sensitivity and depends entirely on the worker’s criteria. To overcome these obstacles this article intends to present the possibility of applying a different analysis method that eliminates the weaknesses of the traditional method: signals obtained in time’s domain are transformed to frequency’s domain to later on interpret the results by means of a statistical indicator that allows to compare the obtained oscillograms

Keywords : frequency response analysis; impulse test, transformer.
