Abstract

GONZALEZ BAYON, Juan José; PITA CANTOS, Lenin  and  BORRAJO PEREZ, Rubén. Exergy evaluation of solar energy radiation for real data. Energética [online]. 2016, vol.37, n.2, pp. 105-114. ISSN 1815-5901.

The aim of this study is the evaluation of the availability of solar radiation. Commonly the expressions of Jeter or Petela are used to evaluate the exergy of solar radiation. The radiation reaching the surface of the earth is not like a black body radiation due to the presence of the atmosphere, existing direct radiation and diffuse radiation. Therefore, in this paper the Pons’s method, which integrates the entropic flows of both types of radiation is used. This approach is applied to real meteorological data allowing to determine the actual exergy flow (total, direct and diffuse) of the solar radiation in the area. As results, the best values of the exergy factor of solar radiation (0,867) and exergy factors related to direct radiation (0,911) and to diffuse radiation (0,734) were obtained for the meteorological data used.

Keywords : exergy; exergy of solar radiation; exergy of direct radiation; exergy of diffuse radiation.
