Abstract

MEDRANO HERNANDEZ, José Augusto; MORENO FIGUEREDO, Conrado  and  VAILLANT REBOLLAR, Julio Efrain. Technical prefeasibility study of the use of wind as energy resource in pre - mountainous zones. Energética [online]. 2019, vol.40, n.3, pp. 223-233.  Epub Sep 18, 2019. ISSN 1815-5901.

The present work arises from the need to reduce costs for concept of electricity and fuel consumption in "Las Terrazas" complex. A visit was made to the place and it identified the highest and closest places, an evaluation of them was made, selecting the hill "El Salón" as a study site for its height (544 m), location and wind characteristics exist (average wind speed above the 5 m/s). Through the use of satellite data, the average wind speed is 5, 90 m/s at 50 m above the earth, which favors the installation of wind machines. This characteristics have been adopted in accordance to reduce costs for the complex by the electricity consumption, the installation of a wind turbine connected to the grid for the supply of electricity was proposed, estimating the energy that this machine could produce.

Keywords : electricity consumption; energy production; electricity supply.
