Abstract
GUTIERREZ URDANETA, Luis; PADRON SUAREZ, Lenyer and VALLADARES AGUILERA, J.. A review of inter-row spacing of solar farms with land constraints. Energética [online]. 2021, vol.42, n.2, pp. 12-22. Epub June 29, 2021. ISSN 1815-5901.
Cuba is a small country with land constraints for the construction of new solar farms. Moreover, Cuba faces a deep scarcity of financial resources. Almost all solar farms commissioned have been mounted with monofacial modules towards the South and with a fixed tilt angle, generally 15 degrees. The inter-row spacing was calculated taking into account this angle and the corresponding latitude, azimuth and elevation of the sun at a certain solar hour in the winter solstice. The authors analyze that, facing land restrictions, a reduction of inter-row spacing, even for bifacial modules, would imply a greater generation and could be more beneficial economically per area regarding the traditional approach.
Keywords : fixed tilt; solar time; row spacing; land constrain; optimization.
