Abstract

DEL RISCO SANCHEZ, Arnaldo  and  CRUZ HURTADO, Juan Carlos. Design of a Modulator/Demodulator OOK whit configurable carrier and baud rate for low frequency standard in RFID devices. EAC [online]. 2013, vol.34, n.3, pp. 52-62. ISSN 1815-5928.

This paper presents the design of a RFID modulator/demodulator, in the low frequency standard for values between 125 and 147 kHz, using the amplitude modulation OOK. The modulation and demodulation is completely performed by software and is implemented in the firmware of PIC18F4550 microcontroller. Because its design by software, is possible setting the carrier frequency and the baud rate across configuration registers. The relationship established between the carrier frequency and baud rate is a natural number which differentiates it from the commercially available devices, whose relationship is in powers of two. The software ISIS 7 and MATLAB 9 are used for simulation. For programming the microcontrollers are used c18 compiler and the IDE MPLAB.

Keywords : OOK; RFID; reader; tag; carrier; baud rate.
