The present work is carried out with the objective of socializing a procedure that contributes to strengthen the management by processes in the direction of a University from the strategic component. It integrates the analysis of the environment and internal of the University taking into account its processes and the patterns of Quality of Higher Education that are working in the university environment. The main results are the types of strategies that could be developed taking into account the capacity of the university and the demands of the environment where the university wants to be recognized following the aforementioned quality standards. These strategies are classified in: Survive, Strengthen and finally Advance and develop.
