Abstract
FERNANDEZ-COLLAZO, Guillermo and RODRIGUEZ-MOLINER, Tania. Evolution of constitutive models for passive response of the arterial walls. Ingeniería Mecánica [online]. 2014, vol.17, n.3, pp. 234-244. ISSN 1815-5944.
The mechanical response of arterial walls is modified as a result of aging and disease development. These changes are reflected in changes in its composition, strength, shape and structure. The prediction of their behavior, depending on their physiological state used biomechanical models is shown as a powerful tool in the treatment and diagnosis of aneurysms, atherosclerosis, hypertension and others. It´s presented in its passive response, a profound analysis of the literature and the bibliographic review of the constitutive models of arterial walls, classifying and highlighting their main advantages, disadvantages and the evolution from purely phenomenological to the most complex response.
Keywords : models; artery; passive response; biomechanics.
