Abstract

The aim of the research was to determine the rheological behavior and the apparent viscosity of the sludge generated in the process of washing aggregate. To fulfill the proposed objective sampling with a view to ensuring the representativeness of the results, particle size analysis, determination of bulk density of the solid density measurement of mud, calculating the percentage of solid took place, and an experiment was designed for conducting rheological tests. The results indicate that the sludge used has 80 % diameter equal to 0,039 mm sieving, and the bulk density of the clay is 1989 kg/m3; it was determined that the sludge has a pseudoplasticbehavior throughout the range of variation in the concentration ofsolid analyzed, and a mathematical model for forecasting theapparent viscosity performing an extension proposed by Einstein in 1911.
