An exploratory study is presented on the family networks of positive cases to SARS-CoV-2 with the objective of characterizing the families and their members in the period from March 11 to June 1, 2020. The distribution of family networks is identified of positive cases by provinces and it is emphasized in Havana, as the epicenter of the epidemic in Cuba until that period. The results are shown according to sociodemographic variables such as population density, age, sex, family relationship. The results are contrasted with evidence from other international investigations. The importance of analysis of co-residence patterns and relationships between generations is shown for understanding the transmissibility of COVID-19.
