The communication of science, particularly of social sciences in Cuba, and with punctuality the field that is enabled by the University of Havana, as a center of scientific production, confirms a pertinent itinerary, from the thematic agenda of migrations. Admits to be deconstructed from its reach; disciplinary affiliation, most important concepts, theoretical sources and authors; projection of the object in indexed publications, among other items. The study aims to identify the challenges that migrations studies mean for the communication of science, based on a partial approach to some of its results by areas of knowledge and in correspondence with the potential uses of the scientific community (2012-2020). In the Cuban case, these studies dialogue with social reality directly, since the Island is an eminently emitting territory, and this phenomenon has qualified the social context of the second half of the 20th century and the current one. Although many references are missing to complete the studies of that same period that are possible to analyze, a systemic relationship can be established between the academic /research/decision-making in relation to the complexity of social reality.
