Abstract

In the present article, oral traditions are presented as a dynamic element of the curriculum in Colombian education, which contributes to the formation and development of reading skills, identity is fostered, the customs of the nation are promulgated and preserved. In the text you can see the importance of these traditions, but in turn, some of the problems that are presented in the school to put them into practice and project the benefits of including these traditions in the teaching practice, giving compliance to regulate it and in turn to contextualize it in the curriculum. The objective that guides the present work is to analyze how oral traditions favor the formation and development of reading skills in the teaching-learning process of the Spanish language in the first cycle of Basic Primary Education. The research carried out combines qualitative and quantitative methods. Specialized bibliography was founded in relation to the topic and based on this, the corresponding assessments were made.
