The aim of this work is to highlight the importance of the application of the scientific method, as an expression of the clinical method in the teaching - learning process in the settings of attention to the individual. In the field of dentistry, the importance of the management of pathologies using the scientific method in the teaching-learning process is highlighted, which guarantees the execution of the stages of the clinical method and finally to conclude with an accurate diagnosis and the correct therapeutics, together with the rehabilitation of the affected functions. It is up to the teachers to focus adequately on their training towards the training of skills considered essential to achieve the proper development of the clinical method in each teaching scenario.
