The study of working conditions in educational institutions has acquired recent importance and a high priority as part of the processes of accreditation of educational quality where management and organizational psychology play a mediating role between the work environment and institutional development. The main objective of this study is to identify the degree of job satisfaction and institutional commitment in under gradúate university teachers and to determine if there is a correlation between both variables. The researchis characterized as quantitative, descriptive-correlational, non-experimental and transversal; The Multidimensional Teacher Satisfaction Scale (EMSLD) and an Instrument to characterize the Organizational Environment (CO) were used to collect the information. The reliability of the instruments was analyzed with the statistica lprogram SPSS (version 21.0) and a reliability index for job satisfaction of 0.89 was obtained using the Cronbach'sAlphacoefficient, and for the institutional commitment of 0.91. 180 auxiliary teachers hired part-time from 3 universities (two private and one public) from the city of Arequipa participated in the study. Among the results, it is high lighted that, according to the type of legal form and institutional management, job satisfaction and institutional commitment have a positive ornegative correlation.
