Training in the first year of the education professional is a stage of great importance for the integral qualitative change that must occur in the personality of the student in the process of formation. During this period, the foundations of future performance begin to be formed and developed. The teaching-learning process must be aimed at achieving the integrality of the future professional. The aim of this article is to present a theoretical characterization of the curriculum developed in the initial teacher training process, the curricular structure, the characteristics of initial training and the importance of training in the first year of the race to guarantee the good performance of the professional and the quality in the execution of his functions. It is based on a methodological strategy that combines quantitative and qualitative perspectives, through which a variety of methods, procedures and techniques are used to collect information, with a predominance of bibliographic and documentary review, observation, historical methods -logical and analytical synthetic. As a result we obtain an exposition of the fundamental characteristics of the curriculum in the first year of the education career, which can be useful to reorient the current pedagogical vision of the curricular mesh in question.
