Abstract

The objective of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the program by choosing my healthy lunchbox. It was a quasi-experimental study with pre-test and post-test on the same group, consisting of 83 preschool children of the Laurita Vicuña de Huánuco Initial Educational Institution, 2019. An observation guide was used in data collection. In the inferential analysis the McNemar test was used. After the educational intervention, the results showed that 79.5% (66 children) chose healthy lunch boxes. There were also positive changes in the choice of salty foods, sweets and healthy drinks. And, regarding the comparison of the choice of healthy lunchboxes before and after the intervention, statistically significant differences were found (P≤0,000). It was concluded that there is significant effectiveness of the educational intervention in the choice of healthy lunch boxes for preschool children of Laurita Vicuña Initial Educational Institution.
