Abstract

YANES GALERA, Marlene Magali; FERRER CABRERA, Dania Caridad; BETANCOURT CAMARGO, Zulema  and  TORRES MAYA, Hugo Freddy. The engineer and scientist Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519). Conrado [online]. 2020, vol.16, n.73, pp. 393-399.  Epub Apr 02, 2020. ISSN 1990-8644.

Leonardo da Vinci is an emblem to which we must study in depth, reference is made to facets of his personality and efforts are made to emphasize his scientific and, mainly, technical concerns. This in order to analyze Leonardo's real contributions to engineering. It is concluded that these contributions were many more in the field of ideas than in practical applications. However, vision, restlessness and the correlation between know-how, science and praxis make Leonardo truly the first modern engineer.

Keywords : Leonardo da Vinci; engineer; Renaissance; códices; ecology; nature.
