Abstract
PARICAHUA PERALTA, Jimmy Nelson and QUISPE LAYME, Wilian. Students' capabilities and teacher's perspective with the current curriculum design. Conrado [online]. 2020, vol.16, n.75, pp. 172-179. Epub Aug 02, 2020. ISSN 1990-8644.
The objective was to determine the capacities of students entering the National Amazonian University of Madre de Dios (NAUMAD) and the perspective of teachers in Regular Basic Educational Institutions (RBEI) in the city of Puerto Maldonado, Peru, in relation to the curriculum design applied in the country. A documentary review of the results of the ECE tests was carried out on secondary-level students between 2015-2018, in educational institutions of the UGEL of Tambopata. An objective test to assess learning in communication and mathematics was applied to students entering the NAUMAD and a questionnaire was applied to assess the perspective of teachers at the Tambopata RBEI in relation to the curricular design. An increase of 2.8% in the performance of ECE tests in mathematics and 0.7% in communication was observed; 75.40% of those entering NAUMAD reached the middle level (in process); and 77.27% of teachers consider that the curricular design has had a medium influence on the development of student capacities. Teachers should be trained to apply the curriculum, and the curriculum should be enriched by taking into account the proposals and needs of trade associations, parents, neighbourhoods, etc. Extramural requests are the axis of change for the articulation of the resolution of problems in today's society.
