The objective of the research was to study the identity attitudes with the profession, professional expectations and their relationship with pre-professional performance in internship students of Obstetrics at the Alas Peruanas University. For this, we worked with the descriptive correlational research design, because the variables and their degrees of relationship were studied as they were found and at a given time. The population consisted of 131 students, with a sample of 98 students from boarding school I, II and III, of both sexes, and aged between 20 and 27 years. To collect the data, the Professional Identity Attitudes Scale, the Professional Expectations Questionnaire and the Pre-professional Performance Questionnaire were applied, elaborated and validated for the present study. This data was then processed, concluding that a higher percentage of midwifery boarding students have attitudes of identity with the favorable profession, regular professional expectations, and efficient performance.
