Since the 19th century, communication has been essential for social development, now it must go beyond participatory communication and become that new agent for the promotion of development and health as a social value that promotes social change. As well, it contributes to expanding citizen social participation, assuming popular culture and facilitating the emergence and use of social networks. The communication for health is a strategy to encourage people and communities to develop knowledge, behaviors and practices to achieve a better state of health. It support primarily on the media to get the message across to the population. Health information and communication are essential for the adoption of healthy lifestyles. This paper focuses in "the influence of communication for health promotion in the face of current conditions of managing the pandemic and its common points with popular education." A review of the epistemic theoretical premises as communication for the health promotion and it relations with popular education were carry out.
