Abstract

ASHAW, María; GUTIERREZ, Jaime; ZAMORA, Evannys  and  CESAR, Yesenia. Measurement scale for the identification of geometric skills and competences. Focus on problems in real context in the third grade primary. Conrado [online]. 2020, vol.16, n.77, pp. 490-494.  Epub Dec 02, 2020. ISSN 1990-8644.

Reliability and validity were determined in an instrument that measures skills and abilities applied during the cognitive process of communication, connection and reflection, in the solve of geometrical problems by third grade students of primary school in personal, work, public and scientific contexts. The content to evaluate is based on the Ministry of Education´s Math Program of the Panamanian Republic. The results show the validity and pertinence of the analysis of the content made by the experts’ panel. The analysis of internal consistency, according to Kuder Richardson´s 20th Formula, got a global reliability of 0.75, which indicates that the designed instrument has a high reliability. The Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin tests showed that the relation between variables is 0.626 and the Barlett’s Spherical test got (p-valor) 0.00 < 0.05, which leads to the application of factorial analysis. The Items were chosen through factorial analysis, varimax type, that explain a 78.44% of the total obtained variability.

Keywords : Instrument; mathematical competence; reliability analysis; validity; internal consistency.
