Abstract

ENRIQUEZ LUDENA, Rosa Luisa et al. Family dysfunctionality and adolescent depression: a systematic review between the years 2016-2020. Conrado [online]. 2021, vol.17, n.80, pp. 277-282.  Epub June 02, 2021. ISSN 1990-8644.

The present systematic review aims to know the relationship between family dysfunction and depression in school adolescents. A systematic review was carried out in the Scopus, Web of science and Ebsco databases, selecting 21 scientific articles from 157 pre-selected articles during the years 2016 to 2020. The results reflect the study of subcategories such as cohesion, affectivity, communication, harmony, permeability, roles and adaptation; By pointing to the most relevant to expose this event, the results establish that communication represents the most studied aspect, followed by cohesion, affectivity, adaptability and other subcategories; therefore, their connection is recognized since the presence of one in the family environment can predispose the appearance of the other. In this sense, communication within the home based on negotiation and cordiality, the existence of good cohesion and positive relationships, the establishment of limits, clear and consistent rules is necessary, since these can be understood as protective or risk factors in depression.

Keywords : Family dysfunction; depression; adolescent.
