SUAREZ NAVARRO, Margarita; LEMOS GARCIA, Reinier  and  DE ARMAS URQUIZA, Roberto. The learning of chemistry with the support of ICT: need or opportunity. Conrado [online]. 2021, vol.17, n.83, pp. 222-231.  Epub Dec 10, 2021. ISSN 1990-8644.

Due to the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic, Cuban Higher Education has had to accelerate the development of remote teaching through the EVEA platform. In the case of the Chemistry Degree at the University of Havana, a specialty with a highly experimental component, this has been a great challenge. The transformations carried out for the learning of Organic Chemistry in a remote way are studied. A mixed research strategy was used, integrating theoretical and empirical methods with the aim of evaluating what was done as a pedagogical innovation and to propose actions for its improvement. The actions taken and the behavior of the students regarding the new learning strategy are discussed. Through a survey, the students' criteria are evaluated in relation to technological and connectivity aspects, training aspects, didactic aspects and communication aspects. In general, satisfactory results were obtained and the students valued the experience positively. It reflects on the actions carried out that as good practices can be generalized and the necessary improvements to be made in the use of ICT for learning the Organic Chemistry.
