The general objective of this study was to determine the relationship between teaching skills and the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) in a Local Educational Management Unit (UGEL) in the city of Lima - Peru. For this, it was approached from the quantitative approach, basic type, cross section and non-experimental correlational design. The sample consisted of 70 teachers from UGEL No. 06 of Ate-Vitarte located in Lima chosen through a census-type sampling. The survey was used to collect information, and two Likert-type questionnaires related to each variable were used as an instrument, with 32 items and 5 alternative answers each. The descriptive results reveal in the teaching competence variable the predominance towards the middle level with 62.85% (44), while for the use of ICT variable it indicates a high level with 44.29% (31); the hypothesis test specified the relationship between the variables. Concluding that there is a relationship between the variables teaching competence and the use of ICT (p≤0.05), demonstrated with a p-value of 0.000 and Spearman's Rho coefficient of 0.729, suggests that this relationship is direct high.
