Abstract

This article shows the results obtained from a research that aimed to analyze the influence of phonological awareness in the development of reading comprehension of primary school students through the use of virtual environments. For this purpose, a qualitative study was carried out, approached from a critical paradigm, because the main objective was to transform the observed reality, on the reading difficulties manifested by students of the Miguel Hidalgo elementary school in the town of Tulancingo, Hidalgo., during the 2020-2021 school year. For which the methodological design of the case study was used with a fourth grade student, whose main characteristic was that she did not know how to read, as well as the action research based on her spiral cycles of planning, action, observation and reflection, for the analysis and replanification of a proposal of pedagogical intervention to develop with the student mentioned.The results obtained showed the importance of the development of phonological awareness, one of the most impactful skills to access comprehension reading with the support of digital applications such as WhatsApp, classroom and Google Meet.
