In the process of perfecting the initial training of teachers, it is essential to formation professional skills for a sustainable development that allows them to act successfully in the different contexts of action. Therefore, our greatest effort must be aimed at improving the effectiveness of the conception and development of these professional skills due to the importance they have in contributing to the training of primary level professionals and their preparation for the organization of the process. teacher from a developer and innovative approach. In this sense, the article presents the practical experience of how to work professional skills, based on the potential offered by the contents of the Didactics of Mathematics subject, as part of the base curriculum of the training study plan of the graduate of the career Degree in elementary education.
