Abstract
MEDINA LOPEZ, Julio Erick; MARTINEZ RUIZ, Héctor and SANCHEZ RODRIGUEZ, Luis Iván. Perception of cognitive presence in a Blended Learning course under the Community of Inquiry Model. Conrado [online]. 2024, vol.20, n.96, pp. 46-56. Epub Feb 28, 2024. ISSN 1990-8644.
In the present study, the results of the implementation of Blended Learning are reported, taking as a basis for design the Community of Inquiry (CoI) model, which is a constructivist model for designing educational experiences. A course was designed in the Blended Learning format for a subject at the Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas. Through a quasi-experiment with a single group using pretest-posttest, the Community of Inquiry scale was administered to assess students' perception of cognitive presence. The results reveal a positive impact of the intervention based on the CoI model, specifically in relation to triggering event, exploration, integration, and resolution of cognitive presence. This implies that the use of the theoretical foundations of the Community of Inquiry model serves as a useful reference for the successful implementation and positive perception of Blended Learning.
